Kay OLSON Bieschke

 


Kenneth Lee Olson was born July 9, 1925, in Mankato, MN the son of Clara and Harold Olson. He graduated from Perham High School in 1943 and enlisted in the Navy in 1943. After serving during WWII, he was discharged in 1946. Ken met the love of his life Rlou Plagman while roller skating at the roller rink in Alexandria. They were married on October 15, 1947. He attended radio/television school in Kansas City and then was employed by KVOX radio, WPBC radio and then KXRA radio. He was chief engineer at KCMT TV and WDAY TV. He retired in 1990 and moved back to Alexandria.

Ken and Rlou raised two daughters Kay and Linda. Ken taught his daughters many lessons of life by the way he lived his life. His hobbies included fishing and in later years golf. 

He was an active member at Zion Lutheran Church including Financial Secretary, District Steward and Sunday School Teacher.  He was a lifetime member of the Alexandria Rifle Club, and VFW and a member of the American Legion. He delivered Meals on Wheels for 10 years, installed and serviced Care Call units for 10 years.

Kenneth died on Friday, July 9, 2021, at Alomere Health in Alexandria at the age of 96 years old, on his birthday. He is survived by daughters Kay (John) Bieschke and Linda (Rodney) Ambuehl; grandchildren Jeff (Tracy) Davis, Jason (Sharon) Davis, Joie (Jack) Chapin, and Johnny Bieschke, Sarah (Wade) Iverson great grandchildren Hunter Davis, Grace Davis, Chloe Davis, Jaydin Iverson, Ethan Iverson, Ellie Iverson and Kaiya Chapin. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Lawler Olson.

A memorial service will be held Monday, July 19, 2021, at 1:30 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Alexandria with at visitation for one prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Interment will be in Kinkead Cemetery.

Donald Affeldt > Brother 06.13.2021

                                                                                       Michael D. Affeldt, age 68, of Willmar, passed away Sunday,June 13, at his residence.

Michael Delbert Affeldt was born on January 9, 1953, in Alexandria, Minnesota, the son of Delbert and Elderoine (Kluver) Affeldt.  He grew up in Alexandria and graduated from Alexandria High School 1971.  He worked at 3M in Alexandria for a while and then at Jennie-O Foods in Willmar for over 27 years.  He enjoyed riding bike and was an avid MN Twins and Vikings sports fan.

 He is survived by three siblings, Shirley (and Gary) Kluver of Alexandria, Don Affeldt of Alexandria and Brian (and Judy) Gislason of Willmar, six nieces and nephews and eight great nieces and great nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
