Mike Allison > Mother 05.03.12

Jeanne Kathryn (Allison) Vickerman was born January 2, 1925 in Fergus Falls to Cora Belle and Louis Vore.

Jeanne was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Jeanne attended the Fergus Falls public schools through the eighth grade. In 1945, Jeanne married John “Jack” Allison. To this union, three children were born, Sandra, Michael and Patrick.

The Allison family owned and operated the Triple “R” roller rink on Lake L’Homme Dieu in Alexandria. Jeanne took a special interest in the family business, working many long hours.

John “Jack” died in 1970 and Jeanne later met and married Earle Vickerman.

Jeanne loved people, gardening, knitting, quilting and sewing. She was very influential in starting the quilting group at St. Luke’s and made many of the banners for the sanctuary.

Jeanne will long be remembered for her wonderful baked goods, especially her pies, breads and caramel rolls. Jeanne’s family was very dear to her and she was very proud of every one of them. Jeanne was very kind and had a real soft spot for her dogs. You might say they were spoiled and most certainly treated far better than many children in this world.

Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Emeroy) Johnson of Garfield; sons, Michael (Cheri) Allison of Austin, Texas and Patrick (Deborah) Allison of Branson, Missouri. Jeanne welcomed two stepchildren into her family: Ricky (Diane) Allison of Hackensack and Darlene (John) Walsh of Parkers Prairie. Jeanne had six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Jeanne entered into the church triumphant on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the age of 87 at her home at Edgewood Vista in Alexandria.
