Jill Pearson > Mother 06.10.2011

          Alice Lucille Pearson, 87, Alexandria, died June 10, 2011 at her home.
Alice was born January 3, 1924 in Granger, Iowa the daughter of William and Margaret (Whalen) Sullivan. She grew to womanhood and graduated from high school in Granger in 1942. Alice attended nursing training at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines and received a degree as a registered nurse in 1945.
In November of 1947 she was united in marriage to Dr. Francis L. Pearson. The couple moved to Alexandria in 1955, where Alice began employment at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital on March 13, 1963 and then later Douglas County Hospital where she became associate director of nursing. Some of her hobbies included music, cooking and she loved to tell jokes.
Alice is survived by her husband, Dr. Francis L. Pearson of Alexandria; five children, Jill Lovell of Minneapolis, Jane (Jerry) Olerud of Bloomington, Mark Pearson of Alexandria, Kevin Pearson of Alexandria, and Jay Pearson of Northfield; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one sister-in-law, Marilyn (Bill) Sullivan; and one brother-in–law, Michael (Marie) Eichemendia.
Her parents, two brothers and four sisters preceded Alice in death.
Alice spent her adult life caring for others; her unselfishness and love of family are who she was. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was loved by all her family and will be deeply missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria on Tuesday, June 14 with the Rev. Steve Binsfeld officiating. Interment was at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers were her grandsons, Jay Pearson Jr., Travis Pearson, Eric Pearson, Chris Pearson, Josh Olerud and Jeff Olerud. Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters, Kerry Williamson, Jesse Olerud Thompson, Sunshine Pearson Grandahl and Alicia Bergquist and son-in-law, Jerry Olerud.

Allen Springer > Father June 11, 2011

Lloyd Springer was born March 29, 1923 in Ponsford, the son of Charles and Gladys (Stowell) Springer. In 1933 the family moved to Eagle Bend. In 1939 Lloyd finished school and moved to Arizona. In the spring of 1943 Lloyd enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country in the South Pacific as a radio operator. After his honorable discharge in 1946, he moved to Alexandria, where he worked for one year, then up to Big Fork for a year where he worked with his brother in a service station.
Returning to Alexandria in 1948 on June 11 he married Grace Schultz, and Lloyd began a successful career in the sheetrock and gunsmith business, where he continued to reside and enjoy his hobbies of hunting and fishing, spending time with his grandchildren until his death on June 11, 2011 at his home. He loved having the church in the home.
Lloyd is survived by his sons, Allen (Sarah) Springer of Lewistown, Montana, Alden (Karen) Springer of Alexandria; one daughter, Carol (David) Prentice of Alexandria; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Francis Springer of Boulder City, Nevada.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Grace, in 1999; parents; and eight brothers and sisters.
A funeral service was held Thursday, June 16 at Anderson Funeral Home of Alexandria with leaders Ron Tomke, Roy Williams and Harriet Cossentine officiating. Charlene Myers provided the music.
Interment was at Kinkead Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Alden Springer, Allen Springer, Shawn Prentice, David Prentice, Ryan Prentice, Troy Springer and Roy Springer. Honorary pallbearers were all of Lloyd’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

              Coffee(compliments of Arrowwood) will provided.
              Rolls and doughnuts will be available.

FORMAT:This year we will be holding a scramble.

Form your own four person team ahead of time or at the course the day of tournament.  Stragglers will be added to a team or put together to form a team.

We will still have the events; closest to pin on par 3s, long drive, and longest putt on #18.  Of course we will also have gift certificates for Eddy's Interlachen and other prizes.

4:30 PM  Awards Ceremony at golf course.

5:30  PM  Eddy's Interlachen Inn...Dinner and/or Beverages.  Spouses and non-golfers welcome.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.Let us know if you will be playing in the tournament, sometime between now and July 10.  July 15 at the latest.  We need to have an accurate number for Arrowwood and for prizes. 
This has become a pain in the butt because some people refuse to respond.
If you have played in the tournament previously but are unable to play this year, please let us know also.
