Barbara McClellan > Mother 05.13.11

         Jeanette Katherine McClellan, 83, died May 13, 2011 at St. Cloud Hospital.
Jeanette was born December 15, 1927 in Todd County to Fred and Margaret (Tschida) Kasemaker. She lived in Osakis into her teen years and then moved to Alexandria where she entered the 9th grade. After school she went to work candling eggs for North American.
Jeanette met Lyle McClellan and the couple was married in Portland, Oregon on September 24, 1946 where she became a homemaker. They lived in Oregon a short time before moving back to Alexandria. Upon their return to Alexandria, Jeanette started working at Bethany Home in Alexandria. She was very passionate about her work and was employed there for more than 20 years.
Her hobbies were “cleaning Lyle’s fish catch,” playing cards with her friends and family, embroidery and drinking coffee with the neighbor ladies. There was never a time when you would visit Jeanette without having one of her many delicious homemade desserts. Jeanette loved the outdoors – planting flowers, gardening and riding her favorite John Deere lawn mower. She also had a passion for feeding the birds, deer, turkeys, and watching all the wildlife, right outside her kitchen window.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Margaret; sister, Helen Miller; and one brother, Harold Kasemaker.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, Lyle; four daughters, Patty Rosenboch, Barb Lolkus (Ken Ringler), Joyce Klingbeil (Gus) and Linda McClellan and one son, Rodney McClellan (significant other, Marlys Botzet); seven grandchildren, Todd Klingbeil, Shawn Klingbeil, Missy Roberts, Julie Nohre, Robyn Brendon, Amber Joy McClellan-Beliveau (David McClellan-Beliveau) and Jodie Tatro; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 17 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Rev. Mark Astrup officiating. Music was provided by organist, Becky Worley. Inurnment was held at Hudson Cemetery. Honorary urn bearers were Jeanette’s grandchildren, Todd Klingbeil, Shawn Klingbeil, Missy Roberts, Julie Nohre, Robyn Brandon, Jodie Tatro and Amber McClellan-Beliveau.

       David Eugene Hanson was born October 11, 1949 in Alexandria to Waymon and Mayme (Bartz) Hanson. He was baptized and confirmed at Fahlun Lutheran Church and graduated from Jefferson High School. He lived in Minneapolis and later Lake George for many years. 
David was a long-time employee of US Bank, formerly First Bank of Minneapolis. His volunteer activities were The Aliveness Project, Minneapolis; the Red Ribbon Ride of Minnesota; Rural AIDS Action Network; and speaking at high school and other AIDS awareness activities.
He died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Neilson Nursing Home in Bemidji.
Cecil Cheek was his life partner for 36 years. He was co-parent to Michael Cheek, Todd Cheek, Heather Cheek, all of Clayton, North Carolina, and Shannon Cheek of Garner, North Carolina; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild and one soon-to-be great-grandchild.
He is also survived by two brothers, Carl “Johnnie” (Vonnie) of Parkers Prairie, Rick (Sherilyn); two sisters, Barb Sather (Gerald) of Nelson and Deb Theusch of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; also numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Waymon and Mayme; and nephew, Tim Hanson.
Memorial services were held at Fahlun Lutheran Church in rural Nelson on May 21 with Pastor Barbara Lund-Thompson officiating. Organist was Bev Steuck.
