Barbara McClellan > Mother 05.13.11

Jeanette Katherine McClellan, 83, died May 13, 2011 at St. Cloud Hospital.
Jeanette was born December 15, 1927 in Todd County to Fred and Margaret (Tschida) Kasemaker. She lived in Osakis into her teen years and then moved to Alexandria where she entered the 9th grade. After school she went to work candling eggs for North American.
Jeanette met Lyle McClellan and the couple was married in Portland, Oregon on September 24, 1946 where she became a homemaker. They lived in Oregon a short time before moving back to Alexandria. Upon their return to Alexandria, Jeanette started working at Bethany Home in Alexandria. She was very passionate about her work and was employed there for more than 20 years.
Her hobbies were “cleaning Lyle’s fish catch,” playing cards with her friends and family, embroidery and drinking coffee with the neighbor ladies. There was never a time when you would visit Jeanette without having one of her many delicious homemade desserts. Jeanette loved the outdoors – planting flowers, gardening and riding her favorite John Deere lawn mower. She also had a passion for feeding the birds, deer, turkeys, and watching all the wildlife, right outside her kitchen window.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Margaret; sister, Helen Miller; and one brother, Harold Kasemaker.
Jeanette is survived by her husband, Lyle; four daughters, Patty Rosenboch, Barb Lolkus (Ken Ringler), Joyce Klingbeil (Gus) and Linda McClellan and one son, Rodney McClellan (significant other, Marlys Botzet); seven grandchildren, Todd Klingbeil, Shawn Klingbeil, Missy Roberts, Julie Nohre, Robyn Brendon, Amber Joy McClellan-Beliveau (David McClellan-Beliveau) and Jodie Tatro; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 17 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Rev. Mark Astrup officiating. Music was provided by organist, Becky Worley. Inurnment was held at Hudson Cemetery. Honorary urn bearers were Jeanette’s grandchildren, Todd Klingbeil, Shawn Klingbeil, Missy Roberts, Julie Nohre, Robyn Brandon, Jodie Tatro and Amber McClellan-Beliveau.
