Estella “Jeanne” (McCorkell) Esterberg, Born November 8, 1917 Beloved Mother,
Grandmother, Sister and Aunt went to be with our Lord on June 7, 2012. She will
be missed by all. She loved to crochet, and won Grand Champion on some of her
afghans. Her visits to California were always so special to her. She loved to
read and listen to the old hymns, but most of all she loved her family.
She is preceded in death by husband Claire Esterberg, daughter Dianne Vach, infant son Eugene Alfred Esterberg, her mother and father, one brother, and six sisters.
She is survived by her sister Lois (Melvin) Nielsen, Akron, IA. Sons: Al (Ann) Esterberg, Alexandria; Wes (Nancy) Esterberg, Weaverville, CA; Russ (Candy) Esterberg, Parkers Prairie. Daughters: Suzanne “Corki” (Roger) Hegland, Alexandria; Sandy (Daryll) Phelps; Plymouth, MN; Sheri (Verdeen “Rip”) Ripley Alexandria, son-in-law Carl Vach. Grandchildren: Devon and Ross (Jenni) Hegland, Pam (Shawn) Flanary, Tammy and Tiffany (Ken Marthaler) Esterberg, Autumn (Jared) Lindenfelzer, Kevynn Phelps, Paula Pangier, Curt and Ryan (Marit) Ripley, Angie (fiancé Chris) and Kaylee Esterberg, Craig (Patricia) Bengford. Great Grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Shawn, Cordell Flanary; Sydney, Riley, Emily Hegland; Nicholas Esterberg; Jack, Grace, and Luke Lindenfelzer; Brock Marthaler; Colin, Gavin, and Megan Pangier.
A Funeral Service was held on Monday, June 11, 2012 at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, MN with the Rev. John Sorum officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Alexandria, MN.
Anderson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
